OLD SCHOOL MEETS NEW AGE

OUR HISTORY

Tractor_edited.jpg

The original Viking Farmer story began in 1864 when pioneers from Iceland and Denmark left on a pioneer journey crossing the Great Plains into the Salt Lake Valley, becoming some of the principal settlers of Spanish Fork.

Five generations later,  the family continued the tradition of farming, passing down the land, technique, and work ethic.

Now, a new family has taken over, and have implemented a fresh approach to sourcing hay, ensuring that your beloved pets receive the best nutrition possible.

No longer a single farm operation, they now source the best hay and grasses from dedicated farmers all around the Intermountain West, then once freshly baled store it in an enclosed warehouse to preserve color, quality, and nutrients for your beloved pets.

HERITAGE OF HARD WORK.

GENERATIONS OF EXPERIENCE.

WHO WE ARE

Robert and Jenn_edited.jpg
Robert Brothersen

As a gentleman rancher, Robert is passionate about livestock and the proper nutrition required to produce the finest possible beef and pork. He is selective with his feed sources, has ground his own mixes, and sells feed locally for pigs, goats, cows, and chickens. Robert has a degree in Agricultural Economics and has sourced the finest hay and grasses from the Intermountain West, much of it stacked up to 13 bales high (16' up) in their fully-enclosed warehouse - in order to deliver the very best small pet food to Viking Farmer customers, and the pets they love.

Jennifer Brothersen

Jenn caught Robert's eye 16 years ago and the rest is history (in the making). Their most recent life chapter is the purchase of the Viking Farmer operation into which the two of them (along with their five children) are pouring their efforts to make the customer experience positive and memorable. With a degree in childhood education, Jenn sees that all their children progress with their lessons. Then in the afternoon, it's off to the warehouse to box, weigh, seal, and ship the finest hay for small pet owners on the market. As she reminds her children: A quality job is a job done right the first time, on time, every time.
